Thirty-Six Months on T
May 20, 2006

Facial Hair
After three years on T, I am still unable to grow anything worthy of growing on my face. My sideburn areas are continuing to fill in, from the bottom up. I tried growing the hair on my chin for about six weeks, and it was OK. Not great, but OK enough that I might do it again. I need to shave at least three times per week to maintain a professional/non-scruffy look.

Body Hair
Like my facial hair, my body hair continues to grow in more and more. Since increasing my dose from 60mg/week to 80mg/week, I have definitely noticed an increase in body hair, especially on my chest. I'm still not covered by any means, but some new hairs have sprouted. Also since increasing my dose, I have noticed my unibrow becoming more...uni...and more dark hair around my wrists and outer side of my hands.

Body Shape
I gained a lot of weight very quickly being at school (was up to 150 lbs) so I jump kicked into a gym routine. I've actually been religiously going to the gym 5-6 times/week for a couple months. I wasn't seeing results at first, but as soon as I started running on the treadmill, I felt like I could see a difference. Now, looking at the photos on the measurements page, I think it might have payed off, at least a little bit (I'm now about 138 lbs.). I'm not nearly where I would like to be in terms of body fat percentage or fat location, but I'm getting there and feeling much better about it than just four months ago.

Muscle
Again, going to the gym has really helped in this area. I can actually see a bicep for once, and my goal for this summer is to get the inguinal ligament "line."

Acne
I still feel my acne is pretty under control. I have been living in a very humid environment, and I do think that caused it to be a little worse. Also, after increasing my dose from 60mg/week to 80mg/week, I definitely noticed that I have been generally more oily. My skin is more oily, and my hair gets more oily faster after I wash it. I'm still on Minocycline twice a day and use Brevoxyl-8 Creamy Wash in the shower with Retin-A Micro 0.04% for my face when needed.

Voice
As I've said for what seems like forever, no noticable changes. Someone did say the other month they thought it had changed a little so I'll keep doing voice clips every six months, just to stay updated.

Libido
I have to admit, I think increasing my dose had an effect on my libido (increasing it, obviously). I'm not going to lie, I felt the need to jerk off more frequently.

The "little guy"
Again, like my voice, I believe he is probably done changing from month to month: he measures in at about 5 1/2 cm.

Mentality
So it has been three whole years on T. When I started T, I knew that I wanted the changes it was going to bring. But I didn't know that I would be this happy with them. Starting T was probably the single best decision I have ever made in my life (so far). I feel like I am finally setting into my body, making plans for my final surgery, and am prepared to move on as a man and proud transman.
