location:  About Me

Hi. My name is Ethan, and I am a 28-year old veterinarian and graduate student. For undergraduate school I majored in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Studies and graduated in May 2005. I graduated from veterinary school in May 2010, and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in a public health field in order to further my studies in epidemiology. I hope to one day be a veterinary epidemiologist in public health. My wife Molly and I have three cats and a dog, Tyler, Atilla, Paz, and Leif.

I am also an FTM transsexual -- I was supposed to start testosterone hormone therapy on January 8, 2003, but it was delayed until May 15th, 2003 because of my hysterectomy, which was completed on June 11th, 2003. I had my chest surgery done by Dr. Yvon Menard at GRS Montreal on August 27th, 2003. I had bottom surgery, specifically metoidioplasty with urethral lengthening, scrotoplasty with testicular implants, and vaginectomy in Belgrade, Serbia on June 19, 2007, and a bottom surgery revision with a local urologist on March 10, 2008 to fix a urethral fistula and remove a small remaining part of the vagina. Because my testicular implants did not "drop" properly, I had the implants replaced with tissue expanders (February 4, 2009), which were expanded over a number of weeks to stretch the scrotal skin, then another surgery to replace the expanders with new testicular implants (April 6, 2009). Disappointingly, one of the implants again healed too high, and the implants were again replaced with skin expanders on March 1, 2010. I again stretched the skin over a number of months, and the implants were reinserted on June 7, 2010, hopefully for the last and final time. You can find more detailed information on all of that in my transition section.
